Here we are in Carson, California. The photographer cleverly defocuses the people in order to get a really nice shot of the blimp. Oops!
Here's what the lighted sign on the blimp looks like close up. Seven miles of wire? Whooey!
Captain Jeff, at your service
Three views of the controls -- no speed brakes needed!
Passenger Curt, Cap'n Jeff, Tour Guide Fabian, Passenger Michelle
Nice pose, Jeff!
A parting shot, with a mercury vapor light showing how dark it's getting
Two views of the APU used to power the light show. This unit runs on avgas, which is not the recommended diet for a turbine. Future blimps will use LEDs which are so efficient that the regular engine alternators will provide sufficient power.
